GNEE Exports GR1 Titanium Tubes To Qatar

Feb 06, 2026

On February 3rd, a technical team from Qatar National Energy Company visited the GNEE Titanium Industry production base to conduct on-site inspections and validation of GR1 titanium tubes required for offshore oil and gas projects. After eight hours of intensive evaluation, both parties formally signed the first supply agreement.

Upon arrival, the inspection team proceeded directly to the production area, focusing on the material performance of GR1 titanium tubes under extreme conditions. In the hot processing workshop, the client used portable testing equipment to conduct on-site composition analysis of the titanium tubes being rolled, confirming that the key element content met the stringent requirements of the ASTM B338 standard. In the finishing area, the client carefully observed the surface treatment process of the tubes and randomly selected samples for dimensional accuracy measurements.

The corrosion laboratory prepared specialized tests. Technicians configured a high-concentration chloride solution based on water quality data from the Persian Gulf provided by the client and conducted accelerated corrosion tests on GR1 sample tubes. After 72 hours of continuous testing, the sample tubes showed no signs of pitting or crevice corrosion, with a weight loss rate of only 0.002 g/m²·day, fully meeting the 25-year design life requirements for offshore platforms.

In the quality control center, the client reviewed the full-process traceability records from sponge titanium raw materials to finished tubes. The material batch tracking system established by GNEE allows precise querying of the production parameters, heat treatment records, and testing data of each titanium tube. This comprehensive quality assurance system served as a critical basis for the client's decision-making.

Based on the full day of on-site validation, both parties finalized the procurement specifications, delivery schedule, and acceptance criteria for the GR1 titanium tubes that evening. This collaboration marks the official entry of GNEE's titanium materials into Qatar's energy sector, laying a technical foundation for future participation in high-end energy projects in the Middle East. As global energy development shifts toward deep-sea and high-temperature, high-pressure environments, GNEE will continue to refine its titanium material research, development, and production systems, providing reliable engineering material solutions for international energy projects.
